We have an immediate opening at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaing(UIUC) for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with a team of three faculty (Nancy Amato,Timothy Bretl,and Katherine Driggs-Campbell), two other postdoctoral scholars, and six PhD students on a large, multi-year, interactive manipulation project for an industrial robotics application. The goal of this project is to enable high-speed, high-precision assembly of small parts with off-the-shelf industrial robots in high-mix, low-volume production lines. An ideal candidate

This project is part of the new $100M Center for Networked Intelligent Components and Environments (C-NICE) within the Grainger College of Engineering at Illinois. Our team comes from the Illinois Robotics Group which spans seven departments at Illinois and is supported by the Center for Autonomy in the Coordinated Science Laboratory.

The position is for one year, renewable on a yearly basis for up to three years. The position will be filled as soon as possible. Remote work options will be available through the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
